[ILL-L] Handling lost books on WCRS

Once a book is in received status the lending credit has been applied. It is
not removed by any further changes in status, including recall. What I
usually do once the book has been paid for is simply complete the request.
You don't need to recall it--you can complete from either received,
recalled, or returned. If you'd rather not complete from received, you can
always ask the borrower to update to returned when they send the payment,
perhaps with a borrowing note stating "payment for lost book in amount $$$
sent on mm/dd/yyyy". It would be nice if there were a way to mark lost, paid
for, but the system isn't really intended for tracking that part of the
transaction.

Subject: [ILL-L] Handling lost books on WCRS
I know we've been down this thread road before but was there ever a solution
to this? In WCRS, how can a lender close out a request for a book that was
lost and paid for by the borrower without using recall and losing the
lending credit?
