[ILL-L] To pay or not?

We would probably cover the cost if it is within our limits. The library
doesn't get to keep any other ILL books or articles that we borrow and pay
for, so really does it matter. I would come up with a policy, maybe after
you hear from others. Do you have any current policies or guidelines that
you publish that lets your patrons know what they can expect to borrow
through ILL? If you currently say that they cannot borrow entire journal
issues, then that may be your answer. Then again, it is faculty and some of
us have different policies for faculty compared to students. However, this
type of transaction is not between libraries, so some may think ILL should
not pay for it. But what about when you use a commercial document supplier
for articles, that's not another library either. Lots to think about.
