[ILL-L] Courtesy notices

I've been using a similar system. I run the query in Clio to generate
borrowers and then send a form e-mail BCC to all of them. My e-mail text is
below. About the only way that I can think of to do this automatically (in
Clio) would be to set your due date well in advance of the one indicated by
the lending library. Modify the text on your first overdue notice to
include language about the book being due and how to request a renewal.
Then all you'd have to do is run a first overdue notice report every day and
get those out to your patrons. It's a clunky work around at best but
depending on your volume it might beat the copy and paste.
Reminder E-mail Text:
"One or more of the ILL books you've requested is due in the next seven
days. Please check your books and return those that are nearing their due
dates. If you need more time with a book, please give me a call at
###-###-#### or respond to this e-mail. Remember that failing to return
books on time jeopardizes our future ability to obtain books through ILL for
all of our patrons."

Subject: [ILL-L] Courtesy notices
The recent discussion about renewals got me wondering: do any of the ILL
management systems produce courtesy notices ("The following items will soon
be due")? I know I've seen a few generated by circulation systems, but can
Clio, Iliad, etc, do the same?
I started sending ILL courtesy notices to our patrons last year, and they
really seem to appreciate it. What's more, it often spurs them into
returning books early or requesting renewals before the due date.
Unfortunately, the only way I've found to do this is rather time-consuming:
run a query in Clio, export the results to Excel, then cut and paste the
info into individual email templates. If these notices could be generated
automatically (just like overdue, renewal, and recall notices), I'd be a
happy gal.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks!
