I have a copyright question regarding a photo available in the Library.
The photo dates since 1953, its owner sold it to a magazine, but
somehow, we have it in our collection. Our Archives Librarian would like
to scan it and add it to our Library catalog.

 

Dating since 1953 - but we do not have any copyright notice about it.
Does it make it a public domain? 

Does copyright or fair use apply to it? 

 

 

Any feedback is highly appreciated.
