I want to thank Tim, Vicki, Kathy, Emily, Brian, Kim and Heather for their quick responses to my problem.  It turns out there /are/ separate files in my ILLiad folder--but they are identical.  Same wording for our patrons as well as other libraries.  All I have to do is reword the lending files and we'll be good to go!

Thanks again for your help.  Today's been a problematic day, but you made it better.  :)
