Our Books by Mail customers are sometimes ILL customers as well, so we would be forwarding ILL books to them. I know of other public libraries who do this, because some of them request a specific (and extended) due dates when asking for ILL books for these customers. Our Books By Mail customers know that they have to get the books (ours or ILL) back to us by a certain due date. Our Books By Mail customers are not exempt from library fines.

Subject: [ILL-L] Forwarding ILL materials
Hi Colleagues,
Apologies for bringing this topic up again, but does anyone forward ILL
material to their "off-campus" patrons? Examples would be a faculty
member on sabbatical, a student in a distance learning program, or
emeriti located out of state. And, do you always request permission
from the supplier first?
TIA,
Nora
