Subject: [ILL-L] ILL usage by library staff
Just an informal survey here - feel free to reply off-list
-Do members of your library staff regularly request ILL items for their
own personal use? [Brannan, Joyce A.] Yes
-Do ILL staff use it more than staff from other departments? Yes
-If your library charges patrons a fee to borrow, do staff also pay the
fee [Brannan, Joyce A.] We only charge if the lending library charges
us and then we do pass the costs on to the borrower no matter who it
might be
I'm curious because I do succumb to temptation now and then and "surf"
OCLC for items to borrow; I was wondering if others out there do the
same. I would think that staff who use ILL would be more likely to
recommend it to patrons. Also, we do charge our patrons a fee ($1.50 to
cover postage), and to be honest, sometimes I don't pay it...
