[ILL-L] "lost" mail dilemma

I'd definitely call or e-mail the lenders.

If I'm requesting a renewal because of some delay in receiving the item, I
always call or e-mail at the same time the renewal request goes in; it does
tend to help, but I wish there was a way to put my "plea for mercy" right
there on the request where they couldn't miss it!

Subject: [ILL-L] "lost" mail dilemma

Yesterday I finally received 2 mail buckets full of ILL's that had been
mailed a month ago. All of the items were at "Received ?" status and when
I marked them received I also asked for renewals. Here's my problem. Most
of the lending libraries said no and the items are already due and/or
overdue. What would you do? Keep them any way? Call each library and
explain the problem hoping to change their mind? Return them all and start
over, again having my patrons wait even longer? I'm not talking one or two
items but 22! What would you do?
