Librarians Take on the USA Patriot Act by Peter Chase of the "CT 4"

Represented by the ACLU, they sued the federal government over the Patriot Act and won. Chase will discuss the "John Doe - Connecticut" case and need for privacy of patron records.

Peter Chase has been the Director of the Plainville Public Library for the last 26 years. He got his library degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He is also currently the chair of the Connecticut Library Association's Intellectual Freedom Committee. This year, he and his three colleagues won the Paul Howard Award for Courage from the American Library Association and the Roger Baldwin Medal of Liberty from the American Civil Liberties Union.
