[ILL-L] ILLIAD/constant data records

Sandy,

We're just getting ILLiad, so I'm not sure, but I think ILLiad keeps its
own libraries database and the information in ILLiad will override
whatever is in your constant data. So updates you've made in the WRS
Policies Directory won't automatically show up. The other libraries
using ILLiad must go into ILLiad and update the information they have
for you. I always wondered why people post changes in their addresses
and Ariel numbers to this list - thinking they could just change their
info in their constant data and in the Policies Directory, but this must
be one of the reasons why. It appears to be a drawback as far as ILLiad
goes to me, but that's the way it is. So, the next time this happens,
see if other library uses ILLiad; if they do, suggest they go in and see
if their information for you in ILLiad is correct.

If I've got this wrong, would some experienced ILLiad user clarify
matters?

Subject: [ILL-L] ILLIAD/constant data records

Hi, everyone,

I've had a couple of instances where libraries have contacted us
(COS) to say that our university name (which was changed a few years ago
from Univ of Southern Colorado to Colorado State University Pueblo)
wasn't updated in the constant data record, and that our Ariel address
likewise hadn't been updated. I've gone through and can't find the old
info in our WRS constant data fields, so I'm wondering if libraries that
use ILLIAD might have old data? We don't run it, so I'm unfamiliar with
it. Does one have to manually update or re-download libraries' info?

Of course, I can definitely have overlooked something in our records,
but am at a loss for where to find it. So any feedback & help is
appreciated, as always.

Thanks,

Sandy
