[ILL-L] Scary trends in packaging

Books and AV media arriving in *unpadded* envelopes or rattling around in
boxes with a few packing peanuts (AARRGH!) for filler. I've come across
both of these a lot more in the past few months - usually with incoming
borrows (not so much with returns)
I realize these may be cheaper alternatives - but lenders, please have a
heart!! Remember it is the RESPONSIBILITY of the LENDER "to take care that
the material it sends out is properly packaged to protect the item from
damage even though the requesting library will be held responsible for
material damaged in shipment." (as per the ILL Code for the US, Explanatory
Supplement).
Rant over.
