[ILL-L] books with cds

We consider  the cd to be part of the book. If we ever send them out without their cds, then it was because the cd was missing or because someone forgot to put the cd with the book.

I would definitely send the book with the CD. If it didn't come back
with the book, I would just charge the borrowing library for the cost of
replacement for both book & CD, not one or the other.

I just wanted to quickly comment on this... I don't sent out CD's with
books unless it's specifically stated in the request. We've lost too
many CD's that accompany textbooks to make this a standard practice. I
will send them if they are requested, but as a rule, we don't loan them.


Are we in the minority??

I have an interloan  grumble...

I just received a book  that did not have the cd with it.
Now, I am assuming my patron is expecting the cd to accompany the book.

Do you think a library should 'conditional' a request if they can fill 
the book, but the cd is lacking?
