All well and good, but we don't use Direct Request, everything goes into
our Review file. We're starting to climb out of a crunch - we've had
upwards of 200 requests in Review, 190 of them had "Jane Austen" in the
title, so there's NO WAY we'd spot duplicates with one student sending
these out. Public kudos to her and our lenders, BTW! We really need to
know what may be a duplicate and I miss seeing "This request may
duplicate IL:1234567" That saved us untold headaches!
Several people re-request an item because they simply don't see the
"successfully transmitted" message on the screen :| We also have
patrons re-request an item because "I requested it three days ago and
hadn't heard anything, so I thought you lost it". One of these days I
_will_ loose it.
Does ILLiad tell people they're trying to request something that's
already in their account?
Richard
