We use the Vernon VERWA38BLK hand held car code reader, but I don't know
the cost, it works well, Ed.

Subject: [ILL-L] Barcode Scanners

We need to get new universal barcode scanners before our fingers fall
off from typing in other libraries' barcodes. I just "chatted" with
Gaylord and they say their Opticon Handheld USB Scanner (P6125RSS ) is
their most popular and least expensive ($218) model. See

FB19025CA00&search_by=desc&search_for=p6125rss

Do any of you know of a [ better scanner] that would take both 16 digit
and shorter symbologies? If so, please email me off-list.

Thanks!!
