Subject: RE: [ILL-L] Quick Question about Rule of Five
I have 2 rolodex files listing every journal title I request articles
from. I put the current year I am requesting the article and put a slash
mark under that year. If there is not a title I am requesting an article
from, I type up another card with the title on it and put it in the
rolodex file. It is very fast and easy to see when I have requested 5
articles and start paying CCC for the next article.

Subject: [ILL-L] Quick Question about Rule of Five
Does the article request count according to when it was REQUESTED or
when it was received? For example - if an article was requested in Dec
2006 and received in Jan 2007 - which year does it go under? I just
want to make sure. (Because it is according to calendar year right? -
some of our previous files of records are all by school year - but I was
pretty sure it's calendar year).
With it being the end of the semester when I took over ILL, we haven't
had any article requests on my watch yet, but I realized that we needed
a better way to check for the rule of five than having to look through a
file of requests! Anyone have an suggestions? I'm thinking of just
making a list in Excel - but if anyone has better suggestions as to how
to keep up with this I'd certainly appreciate it!
