POSITION: Head of Special Collections / University of West Georgia
Library, Carrollton
NATURE OF WORK: Tenure-track position. Reporting to Library Director,
oversees operations of department, sets policies, provides reference
service, supervises processing of collections, develops finding aids,
produces web content and prepares exhibits. Proactively solicits
appropriate materials for the collection and collaborates with faculty
to integrate and utilize special collections in the teaching programs of
the University. Serves as liaison to assigned academic department(s) and
participates in University/community service. For more information,

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: ALA-accredited or Georgia Board of Regents
approved MLS/MLIS; second graduate degree required for appointment above
Instructor rank; able to fulfill standard promotion and tenure
requirements; outstanding communication and organization skills; ability
to work creatively and collaboratively with others; knowledge of and
experience with traditional and electronic information sources; must be
eligible to work permanently in U.S. Preferred: advanced degree in
History or related field.
SALARY: $45,000-50,000 depending on degrees and experience.
