[ILL-L] Video/DVD and LVIS

Last month there was some discussion on whether or not LVIS members should be charging other LVIS members for AV.  I decided to contact ILLINET/OCLC Services directly for clarification.  They sent to me the attached updated LVIS participant agreement.  They indicated to me on the phone that their meaning for the agreement was that any circulating returnable item should be lent to other LVIS members free of charge.  If you have any questions, you may contact Sue Burkholder directly,  her information is listed below.

I agree.  As I understand it, being a member of LVIS means you don't charge other LVIS libraries for any loans or for copies up to 30 pages.  It doesn't mean that you have to loan everything--at least I hope not; my library doesn't loan A/V materials--but that if you do loan, you don't charge.
