Thanks so much....I'll have to find some time to become better
acquainted with these features and set up.

Subject: Re: [ILL-L] Direct Request/Custom Holdings problems
Custom Holdings is a feature that automates the lender string based on
your best buddy libraries. It lets you set up different tiers of
potential lenders, then creates the lender string for you based on your
preferences. It's done through groups and paths and while it takes some
thought to set it up you'll love it every time you use it. It helps you
make the best use of all your library's relationships and delivery
routes without beating up on any one library. Your network (WILS I
think?) can help you with setting that up.
Direct Request--direct request lets the system create the request based
on your own preferences, including the lender string based on custom
holdings. Basically, you tell the system "books in English at least 3
years old and not older than 100 years and that my library doesn't own
use these lenders and create the request". It's another fabulous feature
and while it takes some thought to set up, you'll love it once you've
got it going. Again, your network can help you setting it up.
BOTH custom holdings and direct request are just part of WorldCat
Resource Sharing so it's part of your subscription. Restated, won't cost
you anything more....
Hope this helps
