[ILL-L] Friendly reminder about returns

I use the return label, if one is enclosed. When I send requests out I
use the default address on the request. I also like the idea of an
e-mail address on the requests. I occasionally press a wrong key (not
perfect, okay) and it would be so easy to e-mail right away.

Subject: [ILL-L] Friendly reminder about returns

I "gripe" occasionally on here about this problem whenever it starts to
happen more and more, so here I go again...

Borrowers:

- If you're returning an item that came with a return address label,
PLEASE USE IT so the item will go back to the correct library. Using
the lender's "default" address (from your Illiad database or the OCLC
policies directory) will often result in a misdirected item if the
lender is a consortium or library system.

- Also, if a consortium or library system has loaned you several items,
each with a different return address label enclosed, please return each
item to its home library. Returning all of the items in one package to
one branch just shifts the return shipping cost back onto the lender,
where it doesn't belong - and in many cases, to a small branch that
doesn't have the budget for it.

Hope everyone had a happy Fourth! (And a happy Canada Day, for my
fellow Canadians)
