Princeton University shares a remote storage facility with Columbia
University and the New York Public Library called ReCAP (The Research
Collections and Preservation Consortium) that is located approximately four
miles from the Princeton University main campus. The Consortium has hired a
position for interlibrary loan fulfillment for all three institutions, and
Princeton University is now active. We have added a new site to our ILLiad
shared server so that all routed requests are updated with the correct
return address information. Most requests for items held at ReCAP are being
routed to ReCAP for fulfillment.
Returnables are banded in teal, and a neon green flag is enclosed with all
items indicating that all items should be returned directly to ReCAP. The
ReCAP address and contact information are on both the band and the flag;
ReCAP has a constant data record that also contains this information. We
would be most grateful if when you receive an item from Princeton with a
teal band, you would add the ReCAP address to your system and make sure that
these items are returned to ReCAP. Please notify your shipping offices as
well.
If you have any questions relating to Princeton items that are shipped from
ReCAP, please contact Orla Mejia at recapils at princeton.edu.
Columbia University and the New York Public Library will send announcements
when ReCAP begins to ship their materials. So, for the time being, this
applies only to Princeton and only to PUL (not PULEA).
Best wishes,
Jennifer
