Us too. We get things that clearly say "University of Alabama."
Sometimes the address even is for Tuscaloosa, but some/several ? postal
employees just send it here.

Jacksonville Public Library gets books and mail meant for all the other
Jacksonville Public libraries. Today we received a bill and threatening
letter from a Illinois university that was meant for another JPL. Odd
thing was that the printout from OCLC they enclosed showed the address
for the right library though the letter had our address- actually the
address we haven't been at for the past two years. We also get books
meant for Jacksonville University, Jackson State University, and
Jacksonville State University,

We occasionally get ILL books destined for Widener University. The last
time it was a pretty interesting-looking children's book!

Dear Colleagues:

Twice this month we, The Newark Public Library (NPL) , Newark, NJ,
received ILL items intended for The Newark Public Library (ONW), Newark,
OH.

Although this doesn't happen often, it is troublesome and time consuming
to correct when it does occur. And sadly ILL patrons wait unnecessarily
a extra week, sometimes longer while the item makes its way to the
intended destination.

We , NPL, contact the lender and/or borrower, and ship the item to the
either via UPS. We do not charge the libraries for the redirected
shipping though over time these charges will start to add up. (Note to
self: charge fees for this service in 2008...)

Therefore, please make sure that you ship requested ILL items to the
Newark Public Library that is listed on your request. HINT: NPL is New
Jersey, ONW is for Ohio.

Thanks ever so,
Ms. Dale Colston
