Dear Colleagues:
The Newark (NJ) Public Library is considering going "cash-less" at the Main Library's Circulation Desk. We spend a lot of time each day counting the cash register receipts for eight or so staff members, comparing the amounts with the register tapes AND Millennium reports, etc. I am in favor of the switch. I've been asked to "... research the possibilities".
To manage our high Internet user traffic, we use SAM/Comprise. They may be considered for the Circulation Desk since they have the needed component.
If you (or even your local hometown library) no longer accept money (bills and/or coins) at your Circulation Desk, please e-me off list to provide me with the pros, cons, advantages, disadvantages, etc.
Thanks ever so,
Dale E. Colston
