Ironically, we at my house just returned an unplayable disc to Netflix this week.
 
On the library front have had my hand slapped (justifiably) for not returning media in a well padded box.

As I understand it, Netflix burn the disc and print the label at regional locations.

They only circulate a disc a few times and then destroy it.  I have never received an unusable disc.

As many of you, I have a Netflix subscription. I, and the thousands of other Netflix subscribers, receive and return the DVDs via US mail in a skimpy envelope. No special wrapping. No container. No DVD case. Of course, there are never any manuals or workbooks.

 

If anyone has a contact at Netflix, they might report on Netflix's loss and damage rate. It cannot be very high or they would have better packaging.
