Deflection by local location is likely to be a ways off but you can

deflect those now through the 008 bytes 20 and 21.   You can use that

feature in Connexion to block loan, copy, or all requests for specific

titles.   Yup, you'd need to do it one-by-one but it's a problem that will

'self correct' as requests come through.    Ohio State also did this as a

batch load to OCLC but, unless it's changed, the batch process doesn't

update the summary statement.   Personally, I think if you're going to

autodeflect on a title you should have something in the summary so

potential borrowers know they shouldn't use you.

 

Take a look at "chilies to chocolate",  I set up autodeflection on that

title for symbol TQD so people could play with it and see what it looks

like on the WRS side and what happens when you put it in a lender string. 

The request gets created but goes to "unfilled" or to the next lender in a

blink.
