Debra is correct on copyright, libraries are allowed to make an archival copy of their A/V material. I was told that you have to circulate the original until it is damaged beyond repair and then the copy can be put into circulation. We have done this will our expensive VHS sets that are no longer available. We have been unable to archive any DVD's because of the encoding on the DVD's.

Thanks
