PUBLIB has been around since 1992 as a place for ideas, help, and discussion for public librarians and those interested in public libraries. To see the collection of prior postings to PUBLIB, visit the Publib Archives. You need a list password to change your subscription settings (sign off, set to vacation, change from digest to individual posts and vice versa). Scroll down to the bottom of this page to request a password.
Sending Messages to Publib
To post a message to all the PUBLIB list members, send email to publib@webjunction.org. Only subscribers may post to Publib. If you have trouble posting to the list, check your list settings to make sure you are still subscribed and that you are sending messages from the correct email address. You need a list password to view or change your subscription settings. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to request a password. If you still have problems, contact one or both of the list moderators, Sara Weissman and Karen Schneider.
Subscribing to Publib
Subscribe to Publib by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in plain text. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Pick a password:   Reenter password to confirm:   Which language do you prefer to display your messages? Changing Subscription Options, Requesting a Password, or Signing Off PUBLIB
You need a list password to view or change your list settings. You do not need a list password to sign off the list. To request a list password, enter your email address in the box below. Press the button. On the next page (the one you will see after you press the button), scroll down to "Password Reminder." To sign off Publib, enter your email address in the box below. Press the button. On the next page, select the Unsubscribe option. If you already know your password, to change your list settings--sign off, change the email address you use, set Publib to vacation, resume mail, switch from digest to individual posts or vice versa--press the button below. Your options will appear on the next page. To unsubscribe from Publib, get a password reminder, or change your subscription options enter your subscription email address: If you leave the field blank, you will be prompted for your email address
